A mystery donor has given Roosevelt University in Chicago 64 000 to date with a pledge to reach 100 000 over two years. The gifts, routed through Elson Lasser Wolff, primarily aid foreign students in need. The benefactor's identity remains unknown though one theory points to a law firm.

Hiker From Baltimore Seeks Bandages and Exit From Town

Governor Daniel Walker drove a car using gasoline made from southern Illinois coal during a two day conference on improving coal use. He called the test successful though production costs remain prohibitive at about 265 dollars per gallon.
