Mansfield To Host Soap Box Derby District
Preparations are under way for a seven-county Soap Box Derby in Mansfield on July 9. The Mansfield Area Derby Association will display racer kits at Richland Mall and conduct clinics on building aligning and balancing racers. Kits cater to junior and new senior divisions with the Gravity Lightning kit. The race is open to youths ages 10 to 15 from Huron Richland Ashland Crawford Morrow Knox and Marion counties. Winners attend a week-long derby camp in Akron in August with peers from across the U S and abroad.

St Paul Boosters Pancake Breakfast Set for Sunday
The fifth annual pancake and sausage breakfast will run 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the St Paul cafeteria. Admission is $1.75 for adults $1.25 for students and $1 for preschoolers. MILAN A ham loaf supper with salad bar is planned by the Edison Chapter of the Daughters of Jephthah 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Milan Masonic Temple. The public is invited. Mrs Adelle Baker elementary supervisor for Huron County Schools attended the 1978 National Conference on Language Arts in Indianapolis presenting a TV based session titled Meeting Children Where They Are using TV to Expand Children's Language. Over 500 people from 50 states attended. Knights of Columbus to serve corned beef and cabbage supper Saturday evening at the K of C Home open to the public. Sunday card party at 7:30 p.m. for members and guests at the K of C Home. Huron County Records Commission to meet 10 a.m. Thursday in the county auditor’s office to consider disposal of records.
