Pap Tests For Every Woman in UPI Report

The American Cancer Society aims to ensure regular pap tests for all U S women to reduce uterine cancer deaths by the mid 1970s per the 1970 annual report led by Dr H M Pollard and William B Lewis. The Supreme Court ruled a draft registrant cannot claim conscientious objection to a specific war such as Vietnam, stating the law exempts only opposition to all war participation.

Norwalk Man Held After Bar Shooting

Clifford Stone, 26, of 692 Woodlawn Ave., was arrested for shooting with intent to wound after allegedly firing at Ralph Mullins near the B B Bar at 77 Whittlesey Ave. Mullins escaped injury. Slone had earlier threatened to return. he pleaded not guilty in Huron Common Pleas Court with bond set at 2000 cash or 4000 property.

Council Edison Confer On Power

Tony Gorant of Ohio Edison Co and power consultant John S Sawyer will meet with City Council's electric committee Tuesday night to discuss wholesale power supply for Norwalk. The open meeting begins about 8 p.m. Finance committee has no plans to meet the ambulance department over wages though the department demands a special session after rejecting a 6 percent offer. Ambulance workers seek a one dollar hourly increase versus a six percent raise to 80 cents hourly.
