Apollo 14 returned rocks described as fused fragments from several rock types created by ancient meteorite impacts. Scientists say the specimens may be part of the original lunar crust, including a gem like sphere resembling a Chinese checker.

Cleveland Roundup Targets 100 Parking Violators

Police in Cleveland began a roundup of the 100 most wanted parking violators with 23 tow trucks patrolling for about 2,596 unpaid tickets. Chief Lewis Coffey ordered arrest for court appearances, noting one offender had 81 unpaid notices.

Wholesale food prices surge in February report

Fawcett to Retire as OSU President in 1972

Novice G. Fawcett announced his retirement as president of Ohio State University effective Sept. 15, 1972. He cited a growth era and urged a younger leader to guide the university into the 1970s while noting the school now has more than 45,000 students. John G. Seventh Candidate on Charter Ballot Files Petitions

Herbert M. Griffiths, advertising manager of the Norwalk Reflector-Herald, Inc., filed petitions Friday for a charter commission seat. He is the first of 14 announced candidates. seven have filed so far. The filing deadline is noon next Saturday. Fifteen commissioners will be elected in May. if not 15 filed, a full commission may still be elected.
