OPEC raises base oil price to eighteen dollars a barrel
OPEC producers raise the base price to 18 per barrel and set a ceiling of 23.50 for premiums. Saudi Arabia United Arab Emirates and Qatar set 18 while Kuwait Iran and other members quote 19.50 to 22 per barrel. The move follows a two tier pricing system aimed at price stability. The communique invites industrialized nations to discuss a joint fund for developing countries and warns any ceiling depends on consumer demand.
