Ohio youth enters patrol academy training program
David McPherson of South Central High School is among 25 high school juniors starting five days of basic police training at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy in Columbus. He was chosen from 107 applicants from Boys State at Ashland College. The patrol auxiliary funds the program, and Judge G W Fias will host a special court session for the boys Thursday night.

Huron Festival to Run July 8 11 With Fireworks
The Lions Club of Huron hosts the annual Huron Waters Festival July 8 to 11. Events include a July 9 and 10 fireworks display a 2 pm street show July 10 water ski and stage shows a boat parade antique car show square dancing and a water fight. Debbi Faber, 1970 Festival Queen, will crown the new queen opening day.

Gas Tank Leaks on Ontario Street After Semi Crash
