Ohio University names economics professor Dr. Harry B. Crewson interim president to succeed Claude R. Sowle upon his September 1 retirement. Crewson will devote full time to the post next month, though duties begin in fall.
Four Sisters Adorers of the Precious Blood from the Norwalk monastery will return to Canada this summer due to dwindling numbers. The 173 West Main St. site, established after 1969 relocation from Bellevue, will close as the diocese grants permission for withdrawal.
Huron County Commissioners plan to decide Monday on annexing 20.45 acres along Townsend Avenue for the Dunn bowling alley and townhouse apartments. The Huron Farm Bureau Cooperative Association opposes expanding beyond the Dunn parcel and seeks industrial zoning. A Thursday public hearing occurred with no vote. the Planning Commission recommended against the annexation by an 8-6 vote.
The Norwalk Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars hosts a dinner dance tonight to celebrate the VFW's 75th anniversary. Festivities begin at 6 30 p m at the VFW Post. Washington UPI Former White House counsel Charles Colson sentenced to one to three years for obstruction of justice in Ellsberg break in case. Colson called his actions part of serving the President and expressed remorse.
East Cleveland and Franklin County contestants won swimsuit and talent awards in the Miss Ohio Pageant opening round at Sandusky High School. Miss East Cleveland Karen Haas won swimsuit. Miss Franklin County Lorrie Kapsta captured the talent prize with a classical piano solo.
Jeffrey Fuchs 18 died from a drug alcohol mix after allegedly killing his mother father sister and brother in suburban Park Ridge. Coroner toxicologist Dr George Christopoulos said preliminary tests showed large quantities of nonprescription drugs in his system and alcohol in his blood, a combination that could be fatal.

The House Judiciary Committee reviews a secretly imposed 5 percent negligence penalty of about 13 000 by the IRS on Nixon for 1969 70 73 tax returns. Nixon has paid overdue taxes but reportedly still owes 1969 amounts while the committee weighs possible impeachment charges.
