Violence during unauthorized march with SCLC leaders in Charleston

In Charleston a 400 person unauthorized march in sympathy with striking hospital workers led to violence as police carried Rev. Ralph Abernathy and Hosea Williams to a patrol wagon. Four youths attacked officers and were jailed along with SCLC leaders. Three policemen were injured and a UPI photographer was struck by a brick.

EHOVE Technical District Request Rejected by Regents

The Ohio Board of Regents rejected EHOVE district's plan to form a technical school district citing duplication with the Firelands Branch of Bowling Green State University. EHOVE's Creighton Christ criticized the decision and pledged to pursue further action with a meeting of the EHOVE Superintendent's Advisory Board. Participating boards included Huron City Norwalk City Erie County Huron County and Danbury Township.

Milan Woman Beaten In Home Leaves Woman In Critical Condition

A 60 year old Milan resident, Marian Colvin of Seminary Road, was found unconscious by her husband at 11 a m Friday after a beating at her home. She is in critical condition at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital. The assailant is unknown and no items appear missing. Police are investigating.
