Bachelor makes strawberry wine fights over legal limits

Tractor Fire Causes Serious Farm Damage Near Norwalk

Firefighters responded to Medusa Road two miles east of Norwalk Friday at 6 p.m. after a tractor engine caught fire during a tow. Patrolman reported the operator, John J. Merrilees of North Fairfield, was pulling another tractor when wires shorted and ignited the motor.

Two New York men plead not guilty in car theft case

Roberto Gonzalez aged 20 and Alredo S. Agrelo aged 22, both of Jamaica, New York, entered not guilty pleas and were bound over to the grand jury in Huron County Common Pleas Court. Norwalk Guardsmen Begin Engineering Training Camp

One hundred forty guardsmen from Norwalk’s Company C, 612th Engineer Battalion, join 5,240 Ohio troops for summer field training at Camp Grayling Michigan. They will be renamed an engineering battalion and return home June 30 after rifle tactics, artillery, machine gun and land navigation drills. Commanding officer is Capt. Al Caprara. Route 20 resurfacing project underway in Ohio counties

The Ohio Road Paving Co. began resurfacing Route 113 in Erie County and Routes 113 and 20 in Huron County today. Traffic signs will direct motorists on Route 20 until completion, then on Route 113. Completion is set for August 31.

Crash Survivors Transferred To Williamsport Hospital

Two surviving members of the Schramm family were moved to Williamsport Hospital in satisfactory condition. John Schramm, 34, and daughter Catherine, 13, were injured on the Ohio Turnpike near the Norwalk Sandusky interchange while heading to Michigan City to visit relatives. Mrs. Schramm, 35, and daughters Marie, 8, and Diane, 6, were killed when their car struck a semi-trailer. The three bodies were taken to Redman Funeral Home and local services arranged by Kubach Smith Funeral Home.
