Willard city fire truck sustained damage when a two vehicle collision occurred on Townsend Avenue Friday night. Fire Chief John Yacob 48 said he swerved to avoid a head on crash and struck a parked car belonging to Marian Shoemaker of Bellevue. Two Deshler men on the truck were treated and released at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital. AByStan de la bystander reported a girl passenger suffered a bruised knee and left before officers arrived. The incident occurred at 10 38 p m in front of 25 Townsend.

Tragedy on Ohio Turnpike Claims Williamsport Family
A Williamsport Pennsylvania family of five traveling to Michigan City Indiana died or severely injured in a crash on the Ohio Turnpike near the Norwalk Sandusky Interchange. Catherine Schramm age 35 and daughters Marie 8 Diane 6 died later at hospital. husband John 34 and daughter Catherine 13 survived in fair condition. The impact occurred at 5 20 a m eight miles east of the interchange when their car crossed into an oncoming semi trailer. Roland Vibebt 49 of Cleveland drove away with minor injuries. Kubach Smith Funeral Home of Norwalk handles local arrangements.
