County Board Talks Possible 30000 Loss From House Bill
County Supt. Thomas Lasley warned on Monday that amendments to House Bill 170 could trim county per pupil funding from 6 to 3 dollars and halt extended service funding. He estimated losses of 14982 and 15798 respectively affecting six staff on 10 to 12 month contracts. Lasley noted superintendents’ concerns and said the bill aims to equalize millage though amendments threaten county operations.
