William V. S. Tubman aged 75 and Liberia’s president for 27 years died Friday at a London hospital after surgery for prostate trouble. In Monrovia vice president William R. Tolbert, 58, took the oath to succeed him, having served as VP for 20 years.

A 9 year old, epileptic and mentally retarded boy nicknamed Kevin Dye has eluded a multi day search on Casper Mountain. Policeman Kills Dog After It Attacks Newsboy
An 11 year old Norwalk boy delivering papers required 23 stitches after a dog owned by Dennis Stoltz attacked him on a Friday afternoon. Norwalk officer Gary DeWalt shot the dog when it lunged at bystanders and the dog later died. Rabies shot records were not found. the health official advised precautionary shots if needed.
