Lightning Kills Farm Worker Amid Ohio Severe Weather
One man, John Myers age 25 of Elyria, was killed when struck by lightning while loading hay on a Lorain County farm as severe thunderstorms and a reported tornado swept northern and eastern Ohio. The tornado touched down five miles south of Springfield, uprooting trees and ripping roofs from houses and barns with no other injuries reported.

Bee swarm injures Cincinnati tree trimmer mid climb

Six Month Old Killed in Turnpike Crash
A six month old died and four others injured in a turnpike crash fifteen miles west of here Monday. Michelle R. Morey of Milwaukee died at Bellevue Hospital from head and internal injuries. Injured: Suzanne K. Morey 25, Robert L. Morey 25, Kevin R. Morey 2, Lisa J. Morey 3, all of Milwaukee. Parents treated and released. children listed as in fair condition. Mrs. Morey drove a 1966 Chevrolet station wagon on wet pavement, lost control, car struck guard rail and overturned. Tires later described as partially bald. Investigation ongoing.

U S Air Force General Killed Over Vietnam
Maj. Gen. Robert F. Worley vice commander of the 7th U S Air Force in Vietnam was shot down near Da Nang while piloting an FR4C photo reconnaissance jet.
