Curfew Tightens As Akron Sees Renewed Violence

Akron's 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew follows a Friday easing after violence in the Negro community flared again Sunday night aided by added National Guardsmen. In Houston, Fred C. Everman, 58, in very satisfactory condition after his third day with a new heart, received the donor heart from Evelyn G. Krikorian in St. Luke's Hospital surgery led by Dr. Denton Cooley.

Mummy casket found in Belleville not opened for relatives

In Belleville Illinois authorities will not open a 200 year old mummy-like casket found by sewer workers. Coroner C C Kane said it will be rebured if no relatives are located. The casket is described as Egyptian in appearance. The finding occurred a week ago during sewer work.

Knowles and Wife Divorce After 25 Years of Marriage

Gov Warren P Knowles and his wife of 25 years ended their marriage with a Mexican divorce granted last week on grounds of incompatibility. Mrs Knowles is an interior decorator who commuted from Madison to her Manhattan firm Gordon Knowles and Associates. They marked their 25th wedding anniversary on April 17.

Postal service to cut deliveries to four days a week

Charleston woman plans another buried alive stunt

Mrs. Pat Haverland, 38, claims a world record 64 days buried alive after emerging from a coffin. She plans another burial at a Virginia Beach amusement park on Aug 3 and Labor Day, hoping to fund an unwed mothers home near Charleston. Funds come from promoter guarantees and park visitor fees. She notes weakness and jelly legs eight hours after resuming life above ground.
