Sidewalk Sale Opens Thursday in Norwalk
Norwalk merchants kick off their annual three day sidewalk sale Thursday with shirts at 99 cents and costume jewelry a nickel. Thirty four stores will participate with most open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 30 p.m. Saturday. Free off street parking provided by local banks and savings institutions.

King slaying suspect Ray may reach Memphis jail weekend

Cuban hijacker seizes Miami bound jet and heads to Havana
A Cuban armed with a gun and grenade hijacked National Airlines Flight 1064 from Los Angeles to Miami, forced a refueling stop in New Orleans, and directed the DC8 toward Havana.
