Sidewalk Sale Opens in Norwalk This Week

Norwalk announces its annual three day Sidewalk Sale beginning Thursday with stores open until 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 5 30 p.m. Saturday. Main Street remains open to traffic but parking from Prospect to Hester is prohibited. Pedestrians may walk in the street in parking areas.

Judge outlines budget options for Huron juvenile center plan

Juvenile Judge Thomas E. Heydinger told Huron County Commissioners they face an August 6 deadline to arrange financing for a juvenile justice center. He outlined three routes Sales tax real estate levy or using present funds noting a half percent piggyback could raise about 400000 annually. If pursued a public vote may be required and petitions must reach ten percent of gubernatorial vote totals. He urged a targeted two year tax window and a future funding plan.
