Gale Bachelder of Wakeman received a gold watch from the Sears Foundation at a banquet in the Ohio Union at Ohio State University. The event marked his 30th year as a vocational agriculture instructor and 36 years teaching overall with three decades in vocational agriculture.

Evening fellowship planned for Rev Paul Bailey welcome
Mrs Donald Ott recreation chair man announces an evening of fellowship and recreation for the young at heart to welcome the Rev Paul Bailey. The Memorial Lake shelter house is reserved 4 to 7 p.m. with a 6 p.m. family style pot-luck picnic and a 7 30 band concert. Games include horseshoes kickball volleyball and relay races. If rain the picnic moves to the Methodist Church.

Norwalk youth hurt water skiing and other local incidents
A Norwalk youth suffered a laceration between the toes while water skiing and was treated at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital along with a Berlin Heights boy bitten by a dog and a Boxboard Packaging employee who injured a thumb. In Monroeville, John H. Schick 20 was cited after rear ending another vehicle on River Road. William Darling Jr. of Monroeville began petitioning for re election to the village council.
