Patrick Lyndon Nugent the one year old grandson of President Lyndon B. Johnson and his mother Luci Nugent spent time in a private box with Judge Roy Hofheinz during the 1968 All-Star Baseball Game. The scene tied to a UPI photo from the day.
A bomb shattered windows in six buildings near the Cuban and Yugoslav Missions to the UN in Manhattan with no injuries. The incident follows a string of attacks on Cuban allied sites in the United States and Miami, linked to anti Castro Cubans. In Duluth Minnesota, Art Mattson proposes renaming 4th Ave West to Ben Boulevard in honor of Mayor Ben Boo.

Price Price Wins Contract Price Construction Co of Norwalk awarded the contract for road resurfacing in Erie and Huron Counties. Bids opened by the Ohio Highway Department in Columbus Tuesday. Price bid 233 363 for a four part project versus state engineers estimate of 223 100. Work includes 2.15 miles of U S 20 in Norwalk city 3.37 miles of SR 61 in Norwalk Township 5.01 miles of SR 601 in Townsend and Norwalk Townships Huron County and 0.92 miles of SR 601 in Milan village Erie County.
President Johnson returns to his LBJ ranch after a weekend trip across Latin America with several heads of state who took part in summit talks in El Salvador. The UPI telephoto caption notes the sequence of travel and meetings.
Harry L. Forster of San Jose filed a federal suit to halt Poseidon test launches later this month claiming the design could malfunction and cause massive US annihilation. He alleges safety flaws after a firing dispute with Lockheed Missiles and Space Co. and names Defense Secretary Clark Clifford as a defendant.
State patrol records show three accidents at the Route 20 bypass crossing with Route 18 since the bypass opened June 10. A.J. Baltes Inc. of Norwalk holds the contract to build a two lane bridge carrying Route 18 over the bypass, replacing the intersection. The interchange is due for completion July 31, 1969.
Mrs. Ilo Dolbee a 40 year veteran Norwalk elementary teacher received a one year leave of absence to teach in Carmacks Yukon after attending the World Congress on Reading in Copenhagen. She will teach first grade with 71 students at Carmacks and plans to visit Denmark Norway Sweden and Finland. She returns to the United States August 20 then heads to the Yukon August 29.
