Fred R. Gutzeit, 76, of Strecker Road in rural Milan, died Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Sandusky after a months long illness. He lived in the area, retired railroad employee, and belonged to St. John's United Church of Christ of Oxford Township. Surviving: brothers Julius of Toledo, William of Huron. sisters Mrs. David Berkey of Milan, Mrs. Laura Pfuhl, Mrs. Leonard Weimnan, all of Huron, Mrs. Albert Kelble, Mrs. Albert Smith, and Mrs. Carl Dircks, all of Berlin Heights. Preceded by parents and sister Lena Speir. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Rawle Funeral Home, Milan. Funeral 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's UCC in Oxford Township. Burial in church cemetery. Memorials to Future Development Fund of the church.
Gary L. Bruehler, son of George C. Bruehler, advanced to first lieutenant in the Air Force and serves as a construction engineer at Perrin AFB Texas. Raymond T. Cochran enlisted in the Air Force June 20 after high school graduation. Navy Lt. Peter R. White returned to Long Beach aboard USS Topeka, which has operated with the Seventh Fleet since 1965 and fired on enemy targets in Vietnam during Operation Double Eagle.
