Johnny Unitas and Dick Butkus head a four man class chosen by the Pro Football Hall of Fame board in Bal Harbour Florida. Also inducted are Ron Mix of the Chargers and Yale Lary of the Lions. Enshrinement in Canton will be July 28 alongside the AFC NFC Hall of Fame game pitting Dallas and Oakland.

Willard high school wrestling posted its seventh straight win as the Flashes overwhelmed Lexington 59-8. Standout performers included Mike Roth 12-2 at 98 pounds, Alex Loera 105, Scot Newmyer 50-second pin, and Rick Tackett 145 with a 7-1 decision. Willard improved to 23-1 over three years, while Coach Gilmore praised his improving underclassmen. The team returns to action Saturday hosting Clyde and Upper Sandusky.

Three Norwalk booster fans win a beef steer drawn at the Norwalk Willard basketball game. Winners are Larry Gentile of Norwalk a side of beef and Jerry Lemon of Huron and Jack Brown of Norwalk front and hind quarters. Booster president Tom Fries notes 625 tickets sold and the club may lose money as beef prices rise.
