Blumenthal Pushes Wage Insurance Plan Before Congress

Treasury Secretary Blumenthal urged rapid passage of real wage insurance to fight inflation. He described it as innovative and fair, offering tax credits if inflation tops 7 percent, applying to the first three points above 7 and to the first $20,000 of earned income. County Has More Money Available

Huron County will have nearly 38 percent more money to finance general operations this year. Auditor Kenneth Reed estimates the general fund will be $2,893,853 for 1979, up from $2,103,604 in 1978. Total county funds are estimated at $10,520,734 for 1979, up from $9,133,855 in 1978. The general fund finances day to day operations. other funds are earmarked for specific purposes and cannot be transferred.
