His wife Vicki a 1973 Norwalk graduate and their son Robert Franklin III are listed with parents Mr and Mrs Robert Franklin Sr of 16 Parsons St. Navy recruit Darlene R Runkle of New London has completed recruit training in Orlando Fla after eight weeks of study and joined the Navy following a November enlistment. Senior Airman David A Miller of Norwalk received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal at Minot AFB ND, a 1974 Plymouth High School graduate. Airman Daniel A Tubbs of Norwalk assigned to McChord AFB Wash after completing navigation systems course at Keesler AFB Miss. Specialist Donald W Benear of New London now assigned to the Norwalk Army recruiting station assisting local recruiters at 55 Benedict Ave Shelby-born son of Mrs Clara Benear.

Two area drivers cited for DUI after crashes in Norwalk
In Norwalk area police reports two drivers, James H. Shreve 23 Willard and Dianna K. Back 26 North Fairfield, were cited for driving under the influence after separate crashes on Ohio 99 and U.S. 250. Shreve hit a snowbank and power pole, claimed injury but was untreated. Back rear-ended another vehicle while following Herbert Hewitt’s slowing car on U.S. 220 and icy conditions on U.S. 20 led to a single-vehicle overturn with Mary Chappelear cited for excessive speed.
