Hamilton deputy jailed in gambling ring case in Ohio

Berlin Heights residents pressed Ha Reader and engineer Larry Stormer at a two hour public meeting at Berlin Milan Middle School over safety at the state highway junction. They urged action while noting double stop signs and stop ahead signs already exist. Reader cited a computer study and warned that only the state can place signals. The meeting drew Kiwanis Club members school board members and Edison High students as petitions with 1136 signatures were presented.

Joseph Nagy, 28, of Willard, is jailed on $15,000 bond in Clark County after a gun discharged during a struggle with Ohio Highway Patrol during a pursuit on Interstate 70. Joy Nagy, the alleged driver’s daughter, was pronounced dead at Mercy Medical Center.

Boss Of Year: Norwalk’s longtime entrepreneur John Suhr
John Suhr, 62, was named Boss of the Year by the Norwalk Jaycees at the annual banquet. A Norwalk native, he began as a door to door minnow seller and built a career spanning jelly squeezers sales, insulation manufacturing since 1937, and a successful cabinet business since 1955. He served five years in World War II and studied at Case Institute of Technology Baldwin Wallace.

Suhr Custom Kitchens founder builds 150 homes then switches to cabinet work
Suhr started in insulation and house construction, building about 150 Norwalk homes. In 1955 he opened Suhr Custom Kitchens with 10 employees, now occupying a 36,000 square foot plant with 38 staff. Three kitchens are produced daily and about 1,000 yearly are installed within 40 to 50 miles of Norwalk. He is active in the Huron County Builders Association and First Universalist Church, lives at 25 E Elm St with Nora, and enjoys a Canada fishing trip each year. He notes that being the boss limits his time for hands on work and recalls a quote from Jim Busek.
