Girl Survives 11-Story Elevator Fall In Chicago
Nine-year-old DeWanda Vaughan fell 11 stories inside a CHA Horner Housing Project elevator. She survived with a broken left leg and a head cut, telling her mother she was okay. Firefighters freed her as Otis servicemen determined the car had been reset after the emergency button was pressed.
