Deputy Escapes Point Blank Shot On Ferry Road

Huron County Deputy John Nichols escaped injury after a driver in a dark blue Ford with a ski mask opened fire on him during a routine night patrol on Ferry Road in Clarksfield Township. Nichols struck the attacker’s wrist with his flashlight. the bullet deflected and his knee later ached but he remained on duty. Law enforcement nationwide alert for the suspect and a companion, details scarce due to darkness and the uninhabited stretch of road.
