A New London woman Lois J. Cameron 18 was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when her car slid on ice and crashed into a tree. She remained in guarded condition Friday at Fisher-Titus Hospital after being cited for excessive speed for conditions.
Joyce Sanders, Huron County's 1979 Junior Miss, will learn Saturday night if she wins the state Junior Miss title at Mt Vernon Memorial Building. The senior at St Paul High School competes with 27 rivals, judged on scholarship, interview, fitness, talent, poise and carriage. The winner goes to Mobile, Alabama, in April for the national pageant.
Clarence C. Coy of New London asks for 250000 damages in a common pleas court suit filed Tuesday. He says he was permanently injured Jan 18 1977 when his pickup collided with Annette Horner then a minor, driving on Ohio 601 south of Ohio 61. He also sues her parents Harry and Barbara Horner of Norwalk for the same incident. Coy claims 30000 lost wages 2300 hospital expenses and 350 pickup damage with a jury trial demanded.
The New London Hospital Proceeds Corporation discussed a possible nursing home for the area at its annual meeting while reporting 1978 assets of 284731 and outstanding bills of 1369. Officers were elected including Robert Harner as president. funds require court approval for health and welfare projects.
