Elderly man wanders from nursing home and is treated
John Chambers, 78, of Cuyahoga Falls, wandered from Gaumont Nursing Center Monday afternoon and fell on ice near Maple and Elm. He was taken to Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital and later released. Police say he intended to reach Cleveland. A separate report notes vandalism to a tractor trailer next to Maple City Ice Co on Water Street. Six tire valve cores and caps were removed from the trailer, a toolbox full of tools and a 60-ton jack also missing. Gary Goble of North Fairfield reported the vanishing act to police at 9:44 a.m. Monday, suspecting Fraternal Association of Steel Haulers involvement.
