The 10 month old Peruvian twins Jose Casimiro and Jose Luciano Mendoza were separated during a Wednesday operation at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Doctors reported both babies in excellent condition after the procedure.

Independent hopefuls must gather four percent of governor vote total, about 156 signatures for mayor or at large council, with a 312 maximum. Ward independents need four percent of governor votes from their ward in 1970, shaping ballot access.
A two car crash on Ohio 4 in Erie County left Marvin D. Hass 27 Pandora dead at the scene. Daniel L. Gerschutz 23 Alvada was injured and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Sandusky in fair condition. State Patrol investigated the 3 15 a m crash five miles south of Sandusky.
