Helen Rhodes, 55, wife of former governor James A. Rhodes, is in satisfactory condition in University Hospital's coronary care unit after a Tuesday night admission for cardiac decompensation. Her sister-in-law Ardella Graves, 59, remains in fair condition at Fayette Memorial Hospital following a Thursday crash on Interstate 71 that left injuries from a vehicle collision.

Gilligan Names Patchen To National Guard Post
Colonel Kermit A. Patchen 51 of Collins has been appointed assistant quartermaster general of the Ohio National Guard by Gov. John J. Gilligan. He was sworn Jan 11 and will keep his post as executive officer of the 16th Engineer Brigade in Columbus. Patchen, a WWII and Korean War veteran, will oversee repairs of state military property, arsenal operations, new construction, and acquisition of guard sites.
