Censorship Movement Grows in Schools Says Prof Felt
Professor Edward B. Jenkinson of Indiana University asserts censorship is more active now. A National Council of Teachers of English briefing notes rising book and paper censorship over the last 15 years, driven by parents and staff objections. The survey, based on 2,000 mailed responses, finds 30 percent facing pressure on books, up from 20 percent in 1966, with language and sexual content chief concerns.
