China in Talks to Buy U S Jetliners in One Billion Deal

ABC and CBS report Communist China seeks to buy 80 to 120 medium range jetliners like the 707 and DC8. The plan would involve Chinese training for up to 10 000 and ground crews to operate aircraft owned by third countries. Norwalk Considers Banning Easter Chick Sales

Norwalk City Council will discuss an ordinance to ban sale of chicks and other young or colored animals as pets or novelties, aimed at Easter. A 16 year old Willard High School student released to parents after a bomb threat letter closed the school for four days. A 17 year old associated with a separate threat also had a preliminary hearing. Hearings set for Tuesday at 1 30 and 2 30 PM.

David Power Seeks Charter Board Seat in Norwalk Race

David R Powers 26 of 119 N Hester Sr files petitions for the city charter commission and is the 13th candidate. He has lived in Norwalk since 1967 and is an engineering technician at Gilford Instrument Laboratories in Oberlin. He served with the U S Air Force at Hickam AFB and formerly worked for Plum Brook NASA in Sandusky. He and wife Sandra have two children Dawn and Shawn. Two other candidates filed petitions with the Huron County Board of Elections Wilbur L Beck rural North Fairfield seeks re election as Greenfield Township Clerk and Thomas R White of Monroeville seeks village council.

Stranger in bra and panties disrupts traffic in Gravesend

A pretty blonde in a tiny bra and panties caused a stir on the main road in Gravesend, weaving in front of astonished motorists before vanishing. Police conceded they had little idea of her motive and feared a possible chain collision.
