Merchants Back One Way Street Proposal for Norwalk

Norwalk merchants support a plan to convert several downtown streets to one way to add about 73 parking spaces, with Monroe and West Seminary cited. City leaders caution the proposal is in infancy and would require resident surveys, cost estimates up to 5,000 dollars, and possible traffic pattern changes including Main Street signal adjustments.

Priest Halts Church Looting as Boys Escape

Woman joins Norwalk Planning and Zoning Commission

Joyce Meinke, a Benedict School third grade teacher, becomes the first woman on Norwalk’s Planning and Zoning Commission, replacing her husband Michael who resigns to attend university. Mayor Wayne Goodsite announced the appointment after interviewing her. Meinke, resident six years, cites lack of women on city committees as a reason to serve and anticipates the other members will support her. The Reflector first reported the news.
