Mansfield judge to rule on sheriff’s release in jail case
Richland County Common Pleas Court Judge Max Chilcote denied a motion to release Sheriff Thomas Weikel from jail and will hold another hearing Thursday afternoon to decide if the sheriff should be freed. Weikel and Chief Deputy Raymond Hart were jailed on contempt charges after a bugging device was found in Chilcote’s court. Hart was released after four days. Weikel received 10 days. Capt. William Miser also drew a 10 day sentence with seven suspended for involvement in the scheme.

Columbia Seeks To End Customer Ban
