Look magazine late deliveries blamed on Chicago snow

Talks Resume at Pioneer Rubber Co in Willard
Federal mediator Harry E. Weber announced more talks to begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Willard between Pioneer Rubber Co and United Rubber Workers Local 804. He labeled the sessions exploratory and expressed guarded optimism. The union planned to use the same negotiating committee as in the prior talks while picket lines remained limited at the plant gates.

Fire Destroys Garage and Two Cars in Weekend Blaze
A garage at 11 S Garden St owned by Art Jaster suffered a total loss with an estimated 6600 damage to the structure and its contents. A 1963 station wagon valued at 1500 and a 1965 Betty O'Dell car valued at 1700 were destroyed along with 400 in miscellaneous items. Fire call came in at 5 53 p.m. by neighbor Maude Cooper. Origin of the fire is undetermined.

Milan Man of Year Newton Milan honored by Milan Chamber
Newton Milan a Norwalk resident was named Milan's Man of the Year at the eighth Milan Chamber of Commerce gala. Mayor Glenn Rockwell presented the award on behalf of the chamber. He funded an art building at the Milan Historical Museum, named The Art Department, and established a museum maintenance trust.

Less Federal Aid For Norwalk Schools Sees Reduced Title II Funds
The Norwalk school system applied for 7 958 dollars from Title II for 1966 67 to buy library books for two learning centers at League and Pleasant Street. The grant is 994 dollars less than last year’s 8 952 total. Dr Sturgis Corbin attended a superintendent conference, unavailable for comment on the cut. The allocation equals 1 82 dollars per child, with 5 857 going to public schools, 1 771 to St Pauls, and 330 to St Marys.
