Congressman's Laetrile suit opens as doctors named menace
Testimony begins in a $6 million medical negligence case filed by Birmingham postman John L. Scott's family against U S Representative Larry McDonald doctor and Doctors Memorial Hospital. Attorney Burke Lewis labels McDonald incompetent and a menace for using Laetrile. He argues conventional therapy could have saved Scott and that the hospital aided quackery. Judge Freeman imposes a gag order on out of court statements to protect the jury from outside influence.

Five Photos Of Plains Ga Removed From Soviet Exhibit
Ukrainian officials pulled five pictures from a U S government sponsored Plains Georgia exhibit in Kiev. The show drew from about three dozen shots by Susan Irvin during the 1976 campaign.
