Firemen's feast delayed by house car blaze alarm

An annual city firemen dinner was interrupted by a 6 35 p m alarm at Milton Smith residence 69 Newton Street. A car back seat fire caused the alert. Firemen returned to the table within 20 minutes and continued the meal. The dinner is funded by Frank S Fisher and George Schild.

H. S. Dalton Dies Prominent Wakeman Farmer and Breeder

Henry S. Dalton 78 a Wakeman area farmer and noted Holstein cattle and Percheron horse breeder died after a farm fall eight days earlier. He served as Wakeman Township trustee and on the Huron County Fair Board with deep local and state renown. Funeral 2:30 p.m. Friday at Gerber and Son Funeral Home Wakeman with Masonic service Thursday evening. burial in Wakeman cemetery. He born Oct 10 1886 in Cleveland and lived in Wakeman most of his life. survived by three daughters five sons a sister two brothers 33 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. His wife Bertha died 1963 and son Harry 1961.
