Family Keeps Candle-Mare Home Bright for Christmas
In rural New London Joe and Mary Howell and their daughter Collette pour and decorate candles year round, expanding a hobby that began after a failed search for non round forms. They heat wax to 212 degrees and pour into dry molds with care, using thermometers to avoid overheating. Collette helps with cleanup and pouring and envisions a Christmas week lit by many candle designs including a rectangle hurricane candle with stained glass sides.
