Willard Youth Charged In Local Burglaries

Willard High School student Robert Hitchcock, 18, is charged with two burglaries in Celeryville where more than 300 dollars was stolen from Calvin Cok and Rev. Clarence DeHaan residences. Police say he admitted entering both homes with a juvenile. charges referred to Juvenile Court.

Walcher Announces Independent Bid for Huron County Commissioner

Memphis police officers charged with murder in youth death

In Memphis nine policemen and deputies were indicted on charges from first degree murder to neglect of duty after Elton Hayes, 17, died following a police chase. Four officers faced murder counts, including Lt. Theodore Wilks, as racial violence followed.

South Central Open Hope Hinges On State Payments

Greenwich reports it has received $18,460 in state foundation funds, allowing the South Central Local School District to stay open until year end even if a 10 mill tax package is rejected. Superintendent Lowell Etzler warned a failed levy could jeopardize opening next September with a $60,000 debt and a $38,000 deficit. Voters will decide on a combined 2.7 renewal and 7.1 new taxes at a special election.
