A rainy Sunday night cable car crash on a steep hill left 43 injured including six children. McKinley Music 61 of Greenwich RD 1 was fined 250 dollars and sentenced to five days in jail after pleading guilty to driving under the influence. His license is restricted for two years. Police say Music's car struck Greenwich officer Walter Dittman as it pursued him on Route 224 Saturday night.

Three lawsuits totaling $62,000 were filed by a Norwalk family over a Richland County traffic accident on October 21 1966. Kenneth F. Hauser Jr. is named as defendant. the Ferrells seek damages for the father Cleatus Lee Ferrell and his son Cleatus Lee Ferrell Jr with amounts of 35000 and 12000 respectively. Ida Ferrell also sues for 15000. The collision occurred at Noble Road and Route 13.
A 23 year old Norwalk man William E. Kirk was injured when his car struck a electric light pole and lay on a tree lawn in front of East Main Street Route 20 cutoff. He was treated at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital for facial and scalp lacerations and released the next day. The 5 19 p m crash occurred as he headed west and tried to stop for a traffic signal.
Huron County Fair receipts totaled 21589 for the year per the Huron County Agricultural Society annual meeting. Expenditures were 72130 with capital improvements including a new exhibit building a parking lot fence and new parking lights. Nine directors were re elected including Guy Latham Tomas Nuhfer Herman Weisenberger George Ryerson Arthur McElfish Elmer Dalton Eldred Heyman Paul Burns and Beatrice Fry.
