Milan village nods 8 percent raises after stormy council
A Milan village council meeting turned tense as Councilman James Seiling resigned at the end amid controversy over raises. Police Chief Charles Lindecamp opposed a proposal for full expenditure approval by council or committee heads. The council approved new raises of 8 percent, with Seiling and L Dale Coad dissenting, after previously approving 12 percent for police and 10 percent for street workers. The two-year term remaining for Seiling ends amid the dispute.
