A Galion man was cited for driving the wrong way on a divided highway after a collision with a Bellevue resident Sunday night on Route 20 between Monroeville and Bellevue. Hunt and his family received minor injuries after the crash. several other incidents are noted in the report.
New London begins water system upgrades as V and C Construction moves in to lay a main loop around the downtown area. Crew details include C E Rush noting the plan and Patrick Cassidy and Theodore Hopkins receiving wage increases from 2.25 to 2.35 per hour for water and wastewater plant operations.
A 17 year old Norwalk youth, Arnold E Massie of 12 percent West Seminary Street, was struck by a car while bicycling at the East Seminary South Linwood Street intersection. He is listed in satisfactory condition at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital with injuries. Police say Tim M Campbell, 21, of Wakeman, was eastbound and Massie rode into his path. Two cars collided at 7 17 p m near 58 Milan Avenue when one tried to turn into a driveway, and Thomas A Sanger 64 of 58 Milan Avenue was hit in the back by Dennis Travlos 23 of Toledo driving another car.
A Toy Fox Terrier owned by Mrs. Andrew Jerpe of 63 Cline Sr won best in his class at the Findlay Ohio National Toy Fox Terrier Show. The dog named Chadwick was also named best male Toy Fox Terrier. Another Jerpe dog Winfred earned best in her class for puppies 0 to 3 months old.
Building permits totaling 143000 were issued for two new projects. George Lillo plans a 40000 Colonial style service station on State Route 224 near Myrtle Ave leased to Gulf Oil after completion, with work starting this week. A 103000 2540 square foot addition to the Northern Ohio Telephone Co. office is underway, relocating the manager’s office and main entrance and set for completion in November.
