The Firelands Stamp Club offers a first day cover for the Norwalk Huron County airport dedication. About 150 to 200 envelopes have been ordered by collectors. Envelopes are printed by Sarah Kerr, stamps applied, and cancelled at Norwalk Post Office with an August 18 postmark. Norwalk City Schools Adopt $1.9 Million Budget
The Norwalk City Board of Education approved a 1969 budget of 1,900,000, up 30,519 from 1968. Expenditures are estimated at 1,869,941 with a projected year end balance of 200,000 to cover payroll until March tax settlements from the May five mill levy. The carryover is expected to be lower than in recent years with 368,973 on hand at the start.

Kids Day Plans Set by Norwalk Jaycees at Fairgrounds

Charter Additions Are Recommended for Norwalk
The Norwalk charter commission will consider alternate procedures to be added to the charter at a special meeting at 7 30 p m Thursday. Squire Sanders and Dempsey will present recommendations after reviewing the draft. If accepted the changes may delay printing of 4000 copies for voters before the November ballot. EHOVE Building Report Is Planned For Board Meeting
Architects for the EHOVE Vocational School will present a first hand progress report at tonight's board of education meeting. Chief architect Robert Bregar declined comment on the report. Officials expect two buildings to open Sept 4 with assurances from Weinstein Construction that deadlines will be met. Supt J Creighton Christ says a director for the federally funded DIVE project has been found and will be hired tonight. The board will also hire teachers adopt textbooks and approve other EHOVE projects.
