In Columbus experts from Ohio State University College of Medicine Medical Dietetics Program say special diets like low-fat can be delicious with ingenuity. They advise bold use of herbs and spices, starting at 1/4 teaspoon per four servings, crushing herbs before use and adding them in the final hour for long cooking to keep flavor.
The Maple City 4-H groups report multiple meetings at member homes including Mrs. Virgil Chambers and Mrs. Chambers. Demonstrations covered camp experiences judging and artificial respiration with several members named. Summer picnics and tours are planned for Aug. 5 and fall, with the Norwalk Needlers, Hartland Merry Mixers, New London Happy Farmers, and Willow Brook Beavers active.
