Dianne Doerpinghaus 18 of Greensboro North Carolina was found innocent of carrying her 10 week old kitten April Katsup on Ocean City New Jersey boardwalk. The court clerk explained the boardwalk ordinance and the judge ordered $25 bail returned.
In Chestnut Hill Massachusetts the Longwood Cricket Club hosted a protest by about 30 people against South African participation in U S sporting events. Organized by the Boston NAACP chapter the action aimed to halt matches involving the three South Africans in the U S pro championships.

A 15 year old youth stopping to mail a letter alerted police to two men inside the North Ridgeville post office around 8 45 p m Monday night. Officers found the robbers gone when they returned with the boy. Four suspects were believed involved, two inside cracking the safe and two outside in a 1967 pickup truck.

William F. Reeves of Norwalk appears in the 1971 edition of Outstanding Young Men of America. A Norwalk High School graduate, Reeves is vice president of the Columbus Health Care Plan Inc and administrative assistant at Children’s Hospital. He and his wife Roberta Baxter Reeves have a daughter Tracey.
