King For A Day At Memorial Lake Park For Donald Sommers

More than 100 friends and relatives surprised Donald Sommers with a birthday party at Memorial Lake Park where he was crowned King For A Day. Sommers, 33, has been an invalid since a 1953 diving accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. He lives with his mother on South Norwalk Road, while his siblings and Mrs. Richard Zeller organized the party and a local Amish teacher from Plain City attended. Sommers has kept up with friends via a typewriter and receives regular support from Rev. Garcia who helped him finish a Spanish credit for his high school diploma.
