Brother seeks delay in sentencing and new trial in Sirhan case

Daylight Time chosen by most states amid time changes

United Press International reports most states will advance clocks to daylight time while Michigan Arizona and Hawaii will stay on standard time defying the Uniform Time Act of 1966. Also included are brief items: a five year old boy in Cleveland critically ill after a brown recluse bite, seven held in a double homicide at an auto wash, and Ralph Abernathy arrested during a protest in Charleston.

Bellevue Man Found Shot To Death In Kitchen

A 26 year old Bellevue man William L Famulare was found shot to death in his apartment Friday afternoon. Bellevue police classify it as a homicide and investigators pursue leads with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Police Warn Merchants Circulate Stolen Money Orders Here

Norwalk police alerted area merchants after two complaints Friday about stolen Travelers Express Money Orders and checks. A $65 money order used to buy a $31.15 watch at Johnson Jewelers was forged from a January theft of 275 money orders in Cleveland. Other stolen items surfaced in Norwalk and Erie County as authorities pursue a truck driver suspect. the payments were linked to a Cleveland pharmacy theft and to checks from H & H Tire cashed elsewhere.

Five year old struck by pickup on Zenobia Road

Jeffery S. Hall, 5, of Zenobia Road, is in critical condition at Elyria Memorial Hospital after being hit by a pickup driven by Thomas M. Bickley on Zenobia Road near Route 18. The incident occurred at 6:45 p.m. as Jeffery was returning home from a neighbor’s house.

New London Seeks Voter Registration in Huron County

New London asks the Huron County Board of Elections to establish voter registration there. The ordinance request arrived at the board office this morning after final council action earlier this week. The board plans to discuss receipt Friday but no action is expected until after the May 6 primary and special elections.

Damron Released On Bond In Fatal Stepson Case

Glenn Damron of New London was freed on bond this morning after being charged with second degree murder in the death of his 22 year old stepson. He had been jailed since March 19 and arrangements were made through a bondsman. Damron will spend his 22nd birthday out of jail on May 5.

Teen Plea to Save Job Corps Center Faces Senate

David Walker a Brooklyn teenager urged the Senate poverty subcommittee to reverse Nixon administration plans to close 59 Job Corps centers by June 30. He argued the program changed his life and warned that returning to the block would lead to crime. Secretary Schultz said transfers will move current corpsmen to other centers and many centers will stay closed for months.
