Soviet space mission to test dual-ship link within 48 hours

Reports from Moscow state the USSR plans two manned spacecraft missions to test a link and crew transfer, involving four to six cosmonauts in a historic in-flight docking. In Jakarta a Chinese embassy storm and calls to cut ties grew. In Detroit delegates endorsed a new flexible contract approach for Walter Reuther and UAW. In Bonn Adenauer's body lay in state at the chancellery as Kurt Kiesinger led the ceremony.

Norwalk School Chief Quits for Federal Education Role

Dr. Sturgis R. Carbin, superintendent of Norwalk schools since 1964, resigns to join the U.S. State Department as an educational assistant in Washington. He will leave June 12 after accepting a three year contract offer, leaving a 14,700 salary and a plan to start vacation June 12. Carbin, a U.S. Army Reserve lieutenant colonel, has led Norwalk since Magador local school service and holds degrees from Western Reserve University.
