Police pulled over a car in front of 4157 North early Thursday after a man fled. Three men were charged with disorderly conduct when a gun was found in the vehicle. Jesse R and two others named were among those arrested.
Ferdinand police reported a vehicle with a firearm and occupants allegedly drinking. Officers did not confirm the fourth man’s identity and noted a revolver found in the car while the other suspect fled the scene.
Funeral services were held Monday for Edward W Schoeder 55 of 4841 Walton in the chapel at 5701 Division. Officiating was Rev Warren Mueller of United Church of Krist. Mr Mueller a life insurance salesman for Western and Southern died suddenly Oct 13 of an apparent heart attack. Interment was in Memorial Park cemetery. He is survived by his widow Dorothea two sons Edward F and Keith W a daughter Susan and a brother Robert.
Two women reported the same man snatched purses within five blocks of each other at night. One incident at 9:30 p.m. on October 16 near 1330 N Pulaski involved a slender 20 year old Negro male who asked for bus directions and fled with $15. The second victim, Ike Deav, described similar details and the suspect.
Richard Whlus of 4320 Haddon has been promoted to A2C in the Air Force at Tinker AFB Oklahoma. He attends the University of Oklahoma and plays for the Tinker AFB football team and is an Amundsen High School graduate.
Mrs Johns reports finding a quantity of slide rules and drafting gear on her back porch. The items bore the initials ATL and names possibly linking to Anthony J Lanzarotta. A gate to the yard was found open at 1010 N Avers in Gasinki.
