Moleys Named Columbus AA League Manager for 1923 Season
Carlton E. Molesworth of Frederick will manage the Columbus team in the American Association for 1923. The veteran pilot, known as Moley, has led Birmingham in the Southern Association for 17 years and will bring his proven eye for talent and leadership to lift Columbus from a cellar position. He will depart Frederick early spring with about 30 players ready for south training, as St Paul eyes its current lead and Baltimore seeks to challenge in the faster, stronger league.

Reading returns two Waynesboro players from IL trial
Fitzgerald the catcher and Conti are recalled from Reading to Waynesboro with two others expected to stay. Reading officials have not yet advised AH Bale’s status, while Country Morris may be recalled as Waynesboro manager for 1923. Hagerstown’s deal serves as a cautionary example the club might analyze to move forward. Sherdel shines for the Giants with Hornsby supporting in St Louis comeback. Gulf Refining employees dine at Hotel Cramer Walkersville with Roger B. Wolf as toastmaster and A B Knight as guest of honor.
