Direct Home Loan Aid for Veterans Widows

Fire at Dwight Reformatory injures inmates and staff
An explosion and fast moving fire damaged Jane Addams Hall at Dwight Women's Reformatory. Twenty inmates were hospitalized for treatment as flames gutted the one story brick building. Eighteen inmates and two guards were affected as the fire spread rapidly. A separate note mentions a monument valley rock formation casting a long shadow at sunset.

Ten wardens escape fire with two buried hands
Ten wardens were in the structure when the blaze broke out. All escaped, but two were buried up to the hands and the others suffered from smoke and shock. Local responders treated them at the scene.
